Loki is the youngest of three brothers, which include Hart, the oldest, and Irving, the... middle son. He is generally the brunt of their jokes and sometimes-cruel games that are a considered a large part of "brotherly affection". When he was nine years old, his parents died horribly in front of him, and he still finds himself affected by it moreso than his other brothers. After Hart and then Irving began training using the bow to hunt, he picked up the skill as well, if only because it seemed the natural thing to do.
When the journal network opened, Loki and his brothers were among the first few people who's books were affected by this change, and such, it led them to leaving Hanalan for the first time and going on an adventure, as they met Lady Celeste and the rest of the Franelgroup. Loki was simply happy to get away from home, as he hated being there with the memories of the past. At some point Hart decided to go back home, and so the brothers followed. They met the Princess Kelita and her group and began traveling with them for a time, before they once again ended up back at home.
Eventually Hart got bored (again), which led to them traveling around Hanalan, where they eventually ended up at Eri's flowershop. While there, Irving and Loki eventually decided to leave the shop and take a boat to Atsiria, with the intent of joining up with the followers of Franel once more. Along the way, they met Arken, who went with them to join the caravan just as they were preparing to leave Razen.
The trip through the desert has proved to be awkward, for upon telling Inara when Irving's birthday was, the Kanemorian girl promptly had sex with him, resulting in Loki not being sure of what he was jealous of, precisely. When his seventeenth birthday passed (quietly, because he refused to mention it, and Irving was too distracted to note it's passing), he judged himself still a little girl who couldn't get over his parents death, though he admits that he has at least come a better way at handling it.
While dealing with these issues, he has begin to attempt to integrate himself in with those in the group again, as their journey continues onwards through this strange sand-filled land, and lately has enjoyed being able to find the time to focus on his archery again, and instructing the Prince of Hanalan in the meantime.

Generally a quiet boy, Loki can be very sensitive, as well as very touchy. He is used to being teased and at the brunt of jokes, (usually is called 'Melissa' by his brothers) but it doesn't mean that he likes it. Animals seem to be drawn to him as well, which doesn't help, since he has developed an unhealthy fear of them after an unfortunate incident with a pack of squirrels.
He is mostly very confused about who he is and what he wants to do with his life. He wants to be more than what he is, but really doesn't know how to go about it. The most confusing part that generally sends twists and turns up his psyche on regular occasions is his conflicting feelings of his brother Irving, and even more than that, his own confusion about his general sexuality. Is he a freak?
Regardless of that, he often considers himself the 'sanest' of his brothers.
